Projectile Motion
Launch an object at different speeds and angles and observe its curved trajectory. Explore how gravity affects its flight time, maximum height and horizontal range.
Projectile trajectory
Press launch to watch the projectile follow its calculated path.
Ideal projectile motion with no air resistance.
The ground is treated as the launch height.

Projectile motion equations
T = 2v sinθ / g
H = v² sin²θ / 2g
R = v² sin(2θ) / g
H = v² sin²θ / 2g
R = v² sin(2θ) / g
T = flight time · H = maximum height · R = horizontal range
Experiment procedure
- Start with a speed of 20 m/s and an angle of 45°.
- Launch the projectile and observe its trajectory.
- Change only the launch angle and compare the range.
- Try different initial speeds.
- Change gravity and observe how the trajectory changes.
- Record several observations and compare the results.
Observation table
Record the current experiment settings and calculated results.
| # | Speed | Angle | Gravity | Range | Height |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| No observations recorded yet. | |||||
You can record up to 20 observations.
Model limitations:
This simulation assumes ideal projectile motion. Air resistance,
wind, object rotation and changes in gravitational field strength
over the trajectory are not included.
